GP Compressors Website Rebuild

GP Compressors sells and services industrial compressors across Gauteng and the surrounding provinces. Their website was built in 2016. Not updated since. No mobile optimisation. Load time over 8 seconds on a phone. And, at some point during 2023, the contact form had stopped working without anyone noticing.

Buyers in the industrial equipment sector do their research online before calling. A site that loads badly on mobile, has no product specifications, and silently drops contact forms is not just outdated. It is actively losing business every day.

The rebuild ran five weeks. WordPress with Divi and custom PHP for the product catalogue. Each compressor model has its own spec sheet page: technical specifications, power ratings, tank capacity, compatible applications. Downloadable PDF data sheets for procurement departments that need them for approvals.

The quote request form routes enquiries by product category. A query about a piston compressor goes to the right technician. A service call request goes to the service team. No lost leads sitting in a shared inbox waiting to be forwarded.

We ran a full performance pass before launch. Images compressed and served in WebP. Divi builder output cleaned. Load time brought down to 1.1 seconds on a 4G connection. Google PageSpeed score from 24 to 91.

Month one after launch: 8 enquiries through the new site. The previous month, as far as anyone could tell, had been zero inbound digital leads. Eight enquiries does not sound like a dramatic transformation. But it is the difference between a site that generates business and one that costs money to host and does nothing else.

The third enquiry in month one turned into a R38,000 compressor sale. The site paid for its build cost in week four.
